Notes: Play this anthem through to your choir before asking them to sing it. They will be transfixed by the simple and mysterious beauty of the piece. Practice the bass part first as it is important that the intervals, particularly the falling 5ths, are in tune. Choirs may like to sing the piece with the piano although it would just as effective with organ accompaniment as long as the left hand eighth note movement is well defined.
