Description
SATB and organ. Text by George Herbert ("Trinity Sunday," from The Temple). Drop-dead gorgeous.
Notes: Do not be put off by the mention of ‘mud’ in the first line, this powerful anthem has a strong and expressive ‘clean’ tune. The middle section will take some careful work to check the intervals and make sure the tuning is accurate. Singers should be aware of the triplet figure in bars 30 and 35 to coordinate the ends of the words ‘run’ and ‘rise’. Although the title of the poem is Trinity Sunday, this anthem is suitable for Lent and penitential services.
