Description
The Missa pastoritia in F Major is one of the "pastoral masses" that enjoyed great populatity in southern Germany during the middle of the 19th century. Employing catchy shepherd's melodies and pastoral motifs, this mass also accommodated the lack of tenors in the smaller choirs of the parish churches. The "Gloria" uses a shortened form of the text which was popular at the time. Originally written as a Christmas mass, the Missa pastoritia continues to be an enrichment to any liturgical season. Kyrie, Gloria, Sanctus, Benedictus and Agnus Dei. SAB Choir, Organ and Two Violins. Text in Greek/Latin Beautiful!
