A beautiful Basque carol, arranged for SATB a cappella in a gentle 6/8. A Christmas lullaby with foreshadowing of Easter. Easy to learn because of the repetition of material. One or two solos. Just a delicious setting!

Angels are watching, stars are shining
over the place where he is lying.

Soon will come sorrows with the morning,
soon will come bitter grief and weeping.

Soon comes the cross, the nails, the piercing,
then in the grave, a last reposing.
