Description

Josef Gruber (1855-1933) was an Austrian organist and composer. He was born in Weißenkirchen/Wachau, was a student of Anton Bruckner and in 1878 took over his teacher's former position as organist in the monastery of St. Florian. Gruber was a musical devotee of the Cecilian ideals. After 1906 he taught music in Linz, where he also died.
