A Service of Thanksgiving
A setting of the Rite II service (organ with optional brass) includes a Song of Praise (Gloria paraphrase), Holy, Holy, Holy Lord, Christ Our Passover, and Memorial Acclamation settings. The Gloria has a joyful 7/8 feel due to the intro and interludes, but the congregation is firmly in 4/4 which makes it fun and easy to sing. This was written to accompany the anthem Canticle of Thanksgiving and uses some of the same musical material.
The optional brass quintet parts and score are in the EXTRAS (ZIP) file along with congregational parts for your bulletin.
Song of Praise
All glory be to God, And peace on earth from heaven,
And God's good will unfailingly Be to all peo'ple given.
We bless your name, we worship You,
O God, to you we raise
All glory, thanks, and praise.
Lord Jesus Christ, the Son, Given by the Father above,
Who for the world was sacrificed Upon the cross of love;
O Christ, have mercy, as you sit
Upon the Lord's right hand.
For holy is the Lamb.
You are the Holy One, Who came to set us free,
And only You are God's true Son, Who ever more shall be.
O Father, Son, and Holy Spirit,
Now to you we raise
All glory, thanks, and praise!
