O God, we ask that You would  give the power that they knew.

You sent Your Holy Spirit to the frightened, weak and worn.
And of this poor assembly soon a sturdy church was born.
You made a faithful people who endured wild beasts and swords.
O God, we ask that You would give such love for You, our Lord.

You sent Your Holy Spirit
As promised, a Helper.
As promised, a Counselor.
As promised, He brings to mind the words that Jesus said.

You sent Your Holy Spirit to equip Your church to tell
The news that Jesus rose again, defeating death and hell.
You scattered your believers to all corners of the earth.
O God, we ask that You would give us ways to teach your worth.
